Located within Cesar Chavez Park and adjacent to an urban lake, this 25,000 S.F. library features both indoor and outdoor spaces with expansive views of the park. The building was designed with earth sheltered walls that minimized the visual impact of the structure on the surrounding environment. The planting scheme was kept simple in keeping with the open landscape of the park. The library site’s irrigation system was integrated with the centrally controlled irrigation system for the overall park. Line and Space served as Project Architects and McGann & Associates supported the team with landscape architectural services.
